
A close-to-production version of the car was previewed by the Alivio concept at the recently concluded Beijing Auto Show 2014. It has now emerged that Maruti will launch the sedan in India before festive season kicks off here.
Car makers are known to put off launched until Q4 2014 so as to take advantage of the festive spirit that grips the whole nation around that time. Maruti will look to preempt the slew of launches starting October by launching the new Ciaz in Q3 2014, which is between July and September.
The launch will mark the end of the line for the SX4 sedan, which has been part of Maruti’s portfolio for seven years. The presence of heavyweights such as the Honda City and Hyundai Verna in the midsize sedan segment means that Maruti needs to field a more up to date model...
