Toyota first showcased the Toyota Etios cross at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. The upgraded version of the Liva hatchback features adventure sports styling and combines practical ruggedness with everyday usability. In all honesty, the Etios Cross isn’t the most highly awaited car of the year as such, but it is entering a very risky segment. The original launch date was thought to be May 7th, but now it has been moved up by a small number to May 9th instead.
The car is entering a not so lucrative segment. A major issue with this is the fact that people get confused whether these are still hatch backs or crossovers. Let’s just say they’re somewhere in between with the alterations tilting it more in favour of pseudo SUV’s.
The Etios Cross takes on the likes of the Volkswagen Cross Polo, Fiat Avventura and would have also been competing against Vista D90 had it not tanked as badly as it did. The Etios Cross is 120mm longer, 40mm wider, and 45mm higher than the Liva hatch-back, yet the ground clearance is actually the same...
