Datsun Go hatchback launched at a starting price of Rs 3.12 lakh

The Go will have a price range of Rs 3.12 lakh to Rs 3.69 lakh. It is expected to give stiff competition to Eon and Alto.
 Nissan Motor Co on Wednesday launched the Datsun Go, an entry-level hatchback at a starting price of Rs 3.12 lakh. The Go, which will come in three variants, will have a price range of Rs 3.12 lakh to Rs 3.69 lakh.

The name of the car is inspired by the first Datsun, the DAT-GO, launched almost a century ago in Japan. The word DAT means "lightning fast" in Japanese.

The Go, sporting a 1,200cc petrol engine, is built on the platform of the Nissan Micra. The 3-cylinder engine delivers power of 68PS and torque of 104NM. It does a 0-100 km/h in 13.3 seconds and a fuel economy (ARAI) fugure of 20.63 km.

With the wheelbase of 2450 mm, the GO is 3785mm long and 1635mm wide. The car also gets a good ground clearance of 170mm.

The car has several different features that include the gear lever and parking brake handle at the centre console, while the front seats do not have a space between them but are connected, that provides extra space for the passengers. The car gets three spoke steering wheel, white and blue colouring for the large speedometer that gets a digital tachometer, gear shift guide and fuel computer.

The standard audio system gets mobile docking station that allows syncing of of the smarphone with the car. It also gets the segment first feature of Follow Me Home lights.

'Go' which is a 5-seater, 5-door hatchback, is Datsun's first car in India. The entry level car, under the popular Datsun brand, is aimed at tapping the first-time car buyers. The company is reviving Datsun brand after almost three decades...
