Hyundai Xcent launches tomorrow – What to Expect

hyundai xcent front Hyundai Xcent launches tomorrow What to Expect
The Hyundai Xcent compact sedan will be launched tomorrow. The car is the latest compact sedan to be launched in the same segment as the Maruti Dzire and the Honda Amaze. The car was displayed a day before the Delhi Motor Show but the official prices will be announced tomorrow and other specific details of the car will also be revealed tomorrow.

We expect the petrol powered Xcent to start at under Rs. 5 lakhs and the diesel powered model to cost under Rs. 6 lakhs. Such prices will make the Xcent competitive as the Dzire and Amaze have already been in the market for a long period. To make more buyers consider the Xcent, a very competitive price tag will be necessary and Hyundai knows that. Bookings for the Xcent will be opened tomorrow, immediately after the launch.

Hyundai will sell the Xcent with petrol and diesel engine  options. Since the Xcent is based on the same platform as the Hyundai Grand i10 hatchback, we expect the compact sedan to share parts with the hatchback. Both the petrol and diesel engines of the Grand i10 will be offered on the Xcent as well, which means that the 1.2 liter petrol and 1.1 liter U2 CRDI diesel engines will be offered on the Xcent.

In a similar fashion, the gearboxes will also be borrowed from the Grand i10. The petrol engined model of the Xcent will get 5 speed manual and 4 speed automatic transmissions while the diesel model will only get a 5 speed manual gearbox. The Xcent will also get many features that are found on the Grand i10. Since the Xcent is a costlier car, Hyundai will add many new features to this car. Automatic climate control is one such new feature...
