Vespa S automatic scooter launch price to be higher than VX

Vespa S for India 3Piaggio showcased the new Vespa S automatic scooter at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. To be launched on 4th March 2014, the new Vespa will be priced approximately Rs 4,000 higher than the existing top of the line Vespa VX variant. Current price of Vespa VX is at about Rs 71,500, ex-showroom, New Delhi.

Just like the existing range of Vespa scooters, the Vespa S will continue with the offering of exciting and peppy colors. With the Vespa S, you will have a choice of four colour options – White, Red, Matte Black, and Orange.

The visible change, is the rectangular headlight shape from the days gone by. Position of tail-light also has been modified, while wheel design is similar to that of other Vespa scooters, but the Vespa S gets them powder-coated.

Engine options aboard the Vespa S is the same air-cooled 125cc petrol engine delivering 10.06 PS and 10.6 Nm torque, which is seen on VX and LX125. Transmission too is same in the form of CVT.

Built on their signature steel monocoque chassis, Vespa S features 200mm front disc brakes and 140 mm rear disc brakes. For suspensions, front of Vespa S will have single side hydraulic system, for rear it will be the monoshock system.
