Mahindra has launched a limited edition of their much sought after SUV (or XUV) and has named it the XUV500 Sportz. This model comes with additional features along with the ones available in the W8 model. The XUV 500 Sportz costs Rs 13.68 lakh, ex-Mumbai which is almost 35-40k more than the regular W8.
The aesthetic changes include body decals, red inserts in the alloy wheel and on the fog lamps, door handles and the tail-gate. A rear-view camera has been added to justify the extra cost over the regular XUV W8. It also gets ‘sporty leather-fabric seats’ and red roof-rails.
The mechanicals remain the same with a 140PS/330Nm 2.2-litre diesel engine powering the XUV500 Sportz.
This is a limited edition model and only 1000 units will be made. The sales of XUV have been going down and Mahindra is trying to inject some enthusiasm in the buyers with the newer model. With increasing competition from urban SUVs like Ecosport & Duster and UVs such as the Ertiga and the (to-be launched) Mobilio, Mahindra is just prepping itself for the battle..
